Become a senior peer
As a Senior Peer, you will be matched with a group of 5 new international students. We do our best to establish matches based on shared faculty and mutual interests--- the hope is that you will end up with a culturally diverse group that has a lot in common. While you are not expected to serve as an academic advisor for your group, the hope is that you will get together for coffee and enjoy events around the city together.
Typical peer meetings include: going for coffee on campus, playing frisbee in the summer, having a potluck at someone's house, etc.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in some of the activities that are organized through the International Centre, including: trips to tourist spots in Alberta (Drumheller, Jasper ski trip and ice canyon hike, etc.), as well as visits to attractions in Edmonton (Fort Edmonton Park, participating in local festivals).
Do you have ideas for low-cost activities that would be interesting for someone new to campus? Are you interested in learning more about other countries and cultures? The peer program is a great opportunity to experience the rich cultural diversity present on campus.
