Preparing for UAlberta

In coming to the University, you are joining a dynamic international community.

We share your excitement as you undertake studies in Canada and we also understand you will have many questions.

While it's important to decide when you should arrive, there are many things you need to consider and do beforehand.

The following information will answer your pre-arrival and arrival questions and help you prepare for your transition to UAlberta. 

Things to Do Before You Leave

• Register for Courses
• Pay Your Tuition and Fees
• Arrange for Healthcare Coverage
• Get Your Study Permit in order
• Find a Place to Live, including arranging temporary accommodation if you need it
• Deal with your Money Matters, including budget planning and setting up a bank account
• Consider UofA+, a one-week academic course that runs in August to help undergraduate students prepare for classes in September 

Your Trip

• Packing for your trip and winter
• Arriving in Edmonton and Getting to Campus
