The VSCP has an "English only" policy. This policy encourages students to use English as much as possible and especially during VSCP activities.  The policy help students improve their English skills through regular use.  The VSCP student coordinators will explain more about the policy when students arrive in Edmonton.

Arriving in Edmonton

When you arrive in Edmonton, you will need to stay in temporary accommodation until you can move into your residence.

Canadian Study Permits and Visas (Immigration)

If your VSCP schedule is longer than six months you must have a study permit.

Citizens of some countries may need a temporary resident’s visa to enter Canada.

What to bring

You need to budget for daily life and social activities. VSCP students can attend social events planned by the student coordinators, which may have an additional cost.  Please consider this when deciding how much money to bring.
